Fit the schedule to your week

This is an example, not a rule for how often every home needs cleaning. Keep the tasks that matter in your home, remove the rest, and move jobs to days when you have time. Follow care instructions for your surfaces and appliances.

  1. Choose your daily minimum. Start with dishes and one clear surface. Add more only if that feels manageable.
  2. Give each area a turn. Keep the room-by-room plan, or combine jobs on two cleaning days. You can leave a box empty.
  3. Leave room for missed days. Use Sunday for one unfinished priority, or keep it free. You do not need to double tomorrow’s list.
  4. Review after a week. Move the jobs you kept postponing and remove work you did not need. A useful schedule reflects what you can do.

Where do less frequent chores go?

Use Saturday’s extra slot for a job such as wiping a fridge shelf or tidying a cupboard. Keep a separate note of what you did and when. Choose intervals that fit your home; a weekly template does not mean every job needs doing weekly.

If a job should repeat a set number of days after you finish it, read about cleaning schedules based on when you last cleaned. For occasional jobs, a last-done chore log can be more useful than assigning a fixed weekday.

Questions about the template
